What denomination is Hope City Church?

Hope City Church is an Assemblies of God (AG) church. While we are locally autonomous and self-governed, we voluntarily cooperate with the global Assemblies of God network for ministerial accountability, church planting, and worldwide missions.

Is Hope City Church a Spirit-filled or Pentecostal church?

Yes. As a Pentecostal, Spirit-filled church, we place a high premium on the active presence and empowering work of the Holy Spirit in the daily lives of believers. Our environment is welcoming to anyone looking for an authentic encounter with God.

What is the worship style at Hope City Church?

Our Sunday experiences feature a modern, high-energy, and contemporary worship style. If you enjoy passionate praise, a live band, and dynamic, practical biblical teaching, you will feel right at home here.

Who are the lead pastors of Hope City Church?

Hope City Church is led by our Lead Pastors, Jon and Jessica Hernandez.

What locations and neighborhoods does Hope City Church serve?


We operate a multi-site strategy to stay planted inside Charlotte's growing urban communities. We currently offer two locations (with identical Sunday services at 9:00 AM and 11:00 AM):

  • Hope City North: Located at 4100 Johnston Oehler Rd, serving North Charlotte, University City, and Huntersville.

  • Hope City West: Located at 2225 Freedom Dr, serving West Charlotte, Wesley Heights, and the Uptown area.

What should I expect for my kids on a Sunday?


Hope City Kids provides a safe, fun, and age-appropriate environment where your children can learn about Jesus. Kids' check-in opens 15 minutes prior to the start of each service (at 8:45 AM and 10:45 AM) at both our North and West campuses.

Does Hope City have mid-week services?


We gather corporately for worship on Sunday mornings, but we do life together during the week! Our church community stays connected through a vibrant network of local Small Groups that meet in homes and coffee shops across the Charlotte area for discipleship, prayer, and community.
