Formed Day 15: An Illuminated Path

Scripture:

“Your word is a lamp to guide my feet and a light for my path... I entrust my spirit into your hand. Rescue me, Lord, for You are a faithful God.”Psalm 119:105; Psalm 31:5 (NLT)

Devotional

Have you ever stubbed your toe walking through a dark room in the middle of the night? It rarely happens when the room is well-lit. Walking through life without God's Word is like navigating in the dark—we stumble over things we were never meant to crash into.

God's Word acts as a lamp that illuminates our path and guides our feet. When we combine the pressure of prayer with the direction of Scripture, our lives become firmly centered on Jesus.

Like David in Psalm 31:5, we can step out with confidence and declare, "I entrust my spirit into Your hand". When clay is off-center, every pressure distorts it; but once it is centered, the very pressure that once threatened it now forms it into something functional and beautiful. Place your life in His faithful hands today.

Reflection

Are there areas of your path where you are walking in the dark instead of letting God's Word light your steps?

Prayer Prompt

Faithful God, Your Word is a light for my path. I place my life, my decisions, and my future entirely into Your hands today. Keep me centered on Jesus through prayer and Scripture, and let Your pressure and direction form me for Your glory. In Jesus' name, Amen.
