Formed Day 2: He Is Not Done With You
Scripture:
Then the Lord gave me this message: “O Israel, can I not do to you as this potter has done to his clay? As the clay is in the potter’s hand, so are you in my hand.”

Devotional
In pottery, clay moves through several distinct states:
Dry stage: Brittle and devoid of moisture.
Slip: Water added to dry clay to act as glue or decoration.
Plastic: A careful balance of water and clay that makes it pliable for shaping.
Leather Hard: Dry enough to hold its shape and be carved, but still maintaining some pliability.
Bone Dry: Completely moisture-free, brittle, and unyielding—a necessary stage right before the fire.
Up until the final firing, every single state can be reset. The clay can be broken down, soaked, and formed anew.
You might look at your current condition and feel stuck in one of these states. But here is the promise of the Potter's wheel:
You might be dry, but He is not done.
You might feel settled and hardened, but He is not done.
You might be misshaped, but He is not done.
You might feel broken, but He is not done.
No matter what state you find yourself in today, you are still in His hands, and He still has the power to start again.

Prayer Prompt
Father, I acknowledge the state of my heart today. Even if I feel dry, rigid, misshaped, or broken, I take comfort in knowing I am still in Your hands. Thank You that You are not done with me yet. Reset my heart today. In Jesus' name, Amen.
