Formed Day 10: Skill of the Maker

Scripture:

“You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered!” — Psalm 139:16-17 (NLT)

It’s easy to talk about submitting to the Potter’s hands, but the reality is that you cannot trust someone you don't know.

When you read Psalm 139, you get a beautiful glimpse into the heart of the Master Potter. His work in your life is complex. It’s incredibly intentional. It’s bursting with purpose. And most importantly, it’s deeply personal. God was watching you in the dark of the womb, laying out every moment of your life before a single day passed. His thoughts toward you are so vast they outnumber the grains of sand.

God is just as intentional with you as He was with David, Jeremiah, or Isaiah. But to trust His pressing and shaping, you have to know His character. If you’ve wandered away or never truly surrendered to Him, today is the day to trust the Maker. He isn't trying to crush you out of anger; He is pressing you into your ultimate purpose out of profound love.

Reflection

Do you truly know the Potter? Are you able to trust His character when the process of formation hurts?

Prayer Prompt

Dear Jesus, I believe in my heart that You are the Son of God. I confess that Your thoughts toward me are precious and intentional. I trust You with my life. I turn from my sin, my self-reliance, and my need for control. Fill me with Your Spirit and equip me for Your purpose. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
